Chelsea winger, Pedro has declared he was considering a January exit from Chelsea. The former Barcelona striker has seen game time very hard to come by under manager, Frank Lampard.
The club has found themselves in the relegation battle. Dean Smith’s side are in danger of going back to the Championship. They are 19th in the table two points behind Watford in 17th place. Their league form has been poor. They did enjoy a good run in the league cup where they lost the final to Manchester City. Aston Villa made five signing In January, as they bid to secure their topflight status. Danny Drinkwater, Pepe Reina, Louie Barry, Borja Baston and Tanzania international Mbawana Samata.
Pedro has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge since the arrival of Frank Lampard, he has 8 league appearances so far this season. Pedro’s contract with the club is set to expire at the end of the season. The player will be able to join any other club for free in the summer.
The winger did confirm earlier in the summer that he received offers to leave Chelsea, but he chose to fight for his place under the new manager. Things have not worked well between the pair and the player will leave the club at the expiration of his contract.
Should Aston Villa escape relegation, they will return for the former Spanish international. A return to Spain is also a possibility.
