Reina Is Doubtful

There is a high possibility of Pepe Reina returning to Liverpool during the next football season. However, the Spanish footballer is not really sure about what Liverpool has planned for his future with the club. At present, Reina is the goalkeeper for the Italian club- Napoli on the basis of a loan deal.

Reina was transferred to Napoli when Liverpool’s manager (Brandon Rodgers) had signed the Belgian footballer- Simon Mignolet during the last season. Simon Mignolet had started off impressively with Liverpool. However, Mignolet committed very serious mistakes in the matches against Chelsea and Manchester City while the festive phase was being held.

The Spaniard- Reina is absolutely happy with his association with Napoli, though many times he made it clear that he did not want to depart from Liverpool.

Pepe Reina is going to decide his future endeavors after the current season comes to an end. He is highly unsure of his future, next season. But he has planned that he will perform well and he will enjoy this season to the fullest.

Liverpool intentions are not known to Reina at the moment. He is unaware of the potential offers that he will be getting for the next season because his agent is the one who has to handle this job for him.

There have been rumors that Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are interested in the services of Pepe Reina. However, Reina is dismissing such speculations.

Brandon Rodgers (manager of Liverpool) might give Pepe Reina another chance during the next football season because he is perhaps one of the best players Liverpool has ever been associated with and he has made around 394 appearences between the years 2005 and 2013 for the club.
According to Reina, his future is in Italy and he is not that worried about what unfolds in June this year.

HAMSTRUNG PEPE

Pepe Reina’s loan to Napoli has been stained by a hamstring injury that he picked up during Napoli’s match against Cagliari and ever since then, the goalkeeper chosen by Rafael Benitez to play in between the posts has been the Brazilian youngster Rafael.

Liverpool decided to loan out Pepe Reina as they had already signed Simon Mignolet from Sunderland and now the future of the Spanish goalkeeper is starting to become unclear as Napoli are trying to sign him on a permanent deal but Barcelona have been tracking down Reina and kept close eyes on Reina as he is likely to become the direct replacement of Victor Valdes.

The goalkeeper of Liverpool has already stated that he would like to join Barcelona but later went on telling the media that the decision is not entirely up to him as there are many other elements and factors that will decide his future.

“Everyone would like to play for them. It is clear that I would like be back, but we’ll see if that can happen or not. It’s not up to me. I’m in a situation where my [loan] assignment ends on 30th June.

“Beyond that, my agent is doing his movements, his things, his efforts, and I trust him. As a professional I must think of the situation where I am now. But a player who says he does not imagine himself playing for a team like Barcelona, seems to me, is not telling the truth.”

Barcelona also have on their wish-list, the player of Atletico Madric Courtois and if things with Pepe Reina get complicated then Reina will just have to settle playing at Napoli which seems to be the more likely option than returning to Liverpool as the player himself has already stated that the possibilities of him playing an important role at the Premier League club is highly unlikely.

BARCA MOVE BACK ON

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina, who is currently on loan to the end of the season at Napoli, says that he would consider a move to Barcelona, who are reportedly interested in his services. Reina is widely expected to leave Liverpool on a permanent basis in the summer.

The English club signed Simon Mignolet for £ 9 million as his replacement. It is unlikely that Reina will be prepared to sit on the bench after having been a first-team regular for most of his career. Barcelona are on the lookout for a top goalkeeper after Victor Valdes announced that he will leave the club at the end of the season.

The presence of Valdes was one of the primary reasons behind Reina leaving the club as youngster before moving to Liverpool. Now, he is provided to complete the full circle after it has emerged that Barcelona are interested in signing him. The 31-year-old has acknowledged that he will not be the only player that the Catalan club targets because there will be a number of other contenders as well. Despite this, he is hoping that Barcelona can come to an agreement with Liverpool for his permanent transfer to the Camp Nou.

Barcelona are one of the best clubs in the world and not many would reject the opportunity to join them.

“I would love to return to Barcelona. To play at Barça is a privilege. But I imagine that my name is on a list with others. Barça is a top club and Víctor Valdés’ departure will have alerted other candidates, so a return will be very difficult. Right now I’m not thinking about it. I was fortunate to play there once and I consider myself privileged to have done that,” said Reina to a Spanish daily about his rumoured Barcelona move.

PLAYING TO WIN

Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina, who is on loan until the end of the season from Liverpool, has stated that his team will not be playing for a draw against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League group match.

Napoli go into the match still with a chance to progress to the knockout stages, but a defeat to the German club will put them in a disadvantageous position. They could potentially fall to third place after the end of this round of group matches. Hence, there has been a suggestion that Rafa Benitez may adopt defensive tactics for the match.

Getting a draw away from home in the Champions league is not necessarily a bad thing, but Reina feels that the Italian club will not go with such tactics. The Liverpool goalkeeper was recently united with Benitez after sealing a season-long loan move from Liverpool.

Even though he is not expected to stay beyond this season, Reina is already becoming a cult figure at Napoli after having become the first player to save a penalty from Mario Balotelli. It might be

PEPE NOT HAPPY

Pepe Reina’s recent statements clearly suggest that he is not happy with the way the Liverpool management has treated him in recent times.

According to Reina, the Reds management didn’t make him aware that they were thinking about placing him on loan somewhere else and that’s something the Spanish goalkeeper didn’t like at all.

The manager of Liverpool, Brendan Rodgers, signed the former Sunderland goalie Simon Mignolet during the pre-season transfer window. But, despite that, Reina was supposed to be his first choice shot stopper because of his huge experience of playing in the Premier League. But, to the surprise of the fans, Rodgers loaned Reina out to Napoli.

Talking to the reporters a few days back, Reina said, “They should have told me that they were looking to place me on loan. They didn’t do that and that’s disappointing.”

“I admit that in professional football, you have to take tough decisions sometimes, but, I think I should have been treated better.”

On the other hand, Brendan Rodgers has denied the fact that the club didn’t make things clear to Reina. According to Rodgers, Reina was clearly told that a new goalie would be brought in the camp to give him competition.

The Liverpool manager said, “I had made him aware that we would be bringing in another shot stopper and he had no problems with that. He also felt it would be beneficial for the club to have two quality goalkeepers.”

“But, at a club, wages can be a bit of an issue sometimes. So, we talked to Pepe and decided to place him on loan. He was alright with that too. He wanted to go to a place where he could be the first choice goalie.”

Reina has featured for Liverpool in a total of 285 games so far.

REINA WELCOMES SKRTEL

Spain goalkeeper Pepe Reina, who is currently at Napoli, has said that the club would be very happy to welcome the arrival of his former teammate Martin Skrtel. Reina recently completed a season long loan deal from Liverpool to Napoli, which will see him reunited with his former manager Rafa Benitez.

Reina recently claimed that he was completely at the dark when it came to the transfer. It is highly likely that Reina will not be wearing the Liverpool shirt again. After signing Simon Mignolet from Sunderland for £ 9 million, the club decided to send out the Spaniard on a loan deal rather than keep him at the club.

It would have been extremely ill-advised for Liverpool to keep a full international on the bench earning a lot of wages. Reina has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier league since his arrival several years ago. He was a signing former manager Rafa Benitez.

Skrtel was also brought Anfield by Benitez and Reina has praised the Slovakian defender by saying that he would be a great signing for Napoli. After finishing second in the table last season, Napoli will be hoping to beat Juventus to the title this season. They will also be hoping for a better Champions league run as well.

“I don’t know what Napoli are looking for but I can say Martin Skrtel is a good player. But he is a Liverpool player. His qualities would be great for any team and he is a great player. I respect Liverpool, Martin Skrtel and all of the Napoli players, so I can’t say anything more about this,” said Reina. Skrtel has apparently fallen out of favour with manager Rodgers since he played very little football in the second half of last season. The arrival of Kolo Toure from City has effectively ended his Liverpool career.

REINA SET TO MOVE?

Despite his future being a major doubt, goalkeeper Pepe Reina welcomed the arrival of his compatriot Simon Mignolet to Anfield. Liverpool recently completed the signing of the Sunderland goalkeeper for around £ 10 million.

This move is widely expected to signal his departure of Reina, who has been an excellent goalkeeper for Liverpool for several years. However, he has been linked with a move away from Anfield since last season when he came extremely close to joining Arsenal. Now, though, he is believed to be in the radar of Barcelona, who are looking at him as a replacement for Victor Valdes.

Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes recently revealed that he will not be signing a new contract with the club and will be leaving the club once his current deal expires in the summer of 2014. Search has already begun for his replacement as the Spanish giants do not want to lose any choices. Reina has welcomed the presence of 24-year-old Mignolet, who is expected to be the first choice for the club at the start of the season. Reina has also been culpable of several mistakes over the last few years, which have been unlike him.

During the regime of Rafa Benitez, Reina established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier league with excellent performances that were on par with the best.

“It has not changed a bit. I have said it many times, I’m very comfortable and very happy at Liverpool. Every team needs competitors, and when it’s positive, it is more than welcome. If it is finally done, I’ll welcome him a lot and anything he needs, I’m here,” said Reina. Despite the assurances that he will remain at Liverpool, he is widely expected to join either Arsenal or Barcelona before the end of the transfer window.

Who will win this year’s FA Cup?

The FA Cup may have been somewhat overshadowed by the Champions League when it comes to the Premier League’s global following, it is still the English national cup competition and of great importance to many supporters in this country.

Indeed many fans enjoy betting on who will win it at sports betting sites, and the two Manchester teams are rated amongst the favourites by bookies – with odds of 4/1 and 9/2, while Chelsea have been given both of these odds, depending on what football betting site you go to. These sides represent the safest bet for anyone thinking of gambling on the winner of the FA Cup, but they will not bring a great financial return.

For that, you would need to find one of those teams outside of the favourites, and with longer odds, but still realistically in contention. Indeed many football betting fans this year are opting to put a bet on Everton – given odds of 9 or 10/1 – as they are known to be very keen to secure a piece of silverware. They could represent the strongest realistic outside bet, with Stoke City, who have odds of 33/1 maybe suiting those who want a bigger risk. If there is a problem with this, it’s that many football fans cannot bet against their own team, meaning if you don’t support one of these you might be better playing at one of the internet casinos in the UK.

After all, most of these online casinos now feature the kinds of specialist football themed games that allow fans to combine football and gambling, such as Soccer Safari. This is a slots game which features a group of animals like lions, deer and rhinos (plus a zebra referee) playing each other in a jungle world cup, and the football theme runs through it. However it also includes popular features of slots games, like bonuses, a cash jackpot and the chance to play from any location through the use of the mobile casino option.

REINA AIMS FOR CHAMPS LEAGUE

It has been several years since Liverpool were playing in the Champions League – the premier European competition. This in turn has had a negative effect on the club in general because of the lack of finances from this competition, which is a major hole in the pockets of big clubs.

In the efforts to get back into the Champions league, Liverpool have already changed three managers. The club are currently under the management of the former Swansea man Brendan Rodgers, but the goalkeeper Pepe Reina reckons that the club needs investment in the form of high profile players in order to get back into the Champions league.

Liverpool have not been one of the big spenders in the Premier league since the days of Rafa Benitez. The arrival of clubs like Manchester City and Tottenham on the big stage has in turn pushed the five-time European champions into the Europa league. Aside from bringing in several players like Suarez, Reina has also said that the club should do everything they can in order to keep the 25-year-old former Ajax striker. Suarez is currently the top scorer in the Premier league right now with 21 goals. Yet, Liverpool are a distant sixth position in the table with almost no chance of finishing in the top four.

“This year has been important for us in terms of getting to know what the manager wants and develop the ideas. Then we have to be ready for the very first game of next season to challenge. Obviously we will need some help from the board but I think the basis is well settled. We know the ideas and philosophies of the manager. It is getting better and better so hopefully we will be ready to compete. Liverpool is very lucky to have Luis,” said Reina.

BACK TO HIS BEST

The Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has said that he is closely getting back to his best after making a new start to his Liverpool career.

The Spanish goalkeeper has been regarded as one of the best in the Premier league over the last couple of seasons, but under the recent managerial changes, the performances have dipped alarmingly bad. Reina has even been linked with several clubs in the last few months. The player was also forced to miss the last seven matches due to an injury problem, which has been his first real break since arriving at Liverpool almost 6 years ago.

Since his return from the injury table, Reina has become extremely good. He has said that it feels as if he is making a new start to his Liverpool career. Reina has said that he has been working extremely hard in order to get himself fit, which have resulted in him losing almost half a stone. Reina has said that the popular belief is that goalkeepers are at their best when they reach 30 years of age. Now after having reached 30 years of age, Reina believes that he still has a lot to give to Liverpool. Reina has also said that he convinced the club to offer a two year contract for the backup Brad Jones.

“I’m on the way to my best. I was a little bit upset with myself (earlier in the season) and it was a time to show a bit of commitment and get a fresh start from zero, and that’s what I’ve tried to do. I feel fresher, I feel lighter and I am ready for more. People say goalkeepers reach their best in their 30s, and I am 30 right now, so hopefully my golden days are still waiting for me,” said Reina.
